She enjoys making fun and healthy meals with her granddaughter.<br \/>\n<script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-9289218266222230\" data-ad-slot=\"2581675933\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nTeri says, &#8220;There&#8217;s no convincing kids to try something new or something they don&#8217;t&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">think they&#8217;ll like. The key is to do it together. Have fun! Play music.&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dance in the kitchen, and let the kids get their hands in it! They WILL&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">want to try their own creations!!&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>&#8220;GRAMMY&#8217;S&#8221; FUN IN THE KITCHEN<\/strong> guide is below (all tried and true with her two sons):<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>1) NAME IT AFTER A FAVORITE BOOK<\/strong>, and then let them build it. Kids can&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">spread a tasty dip on a rice cake and decorate it with chopped veggies and&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">grated carrots. Any kid knows this is \u201cPeter Rabbit Pizza\u201d!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>2) KIDS MAKE IT<\/strong> &#8211; Peanut butter on celery sticks might be boring. Give&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">them raisins and let them put the ants on the log, and they\u2019ll enjoy eating&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">their fun creation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>3) GIVE IT A FUN NAME<\/strong>. Fruit and yogurt may not be so appealing, but call&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">it \u201cStrawberries in a Cloud\u201d, and now you\u2019ve got something fun to eat!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>4) MAKE IT &#8220;FANCY&#8221;<\/strong> &#8211; Kids feel like it\u2019s special when it\u2019s &#8220;fancy.&#8221;Served&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in a fancy goblet, wine glass or with a doily is an easy way to dress it up.&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be creative. Make it fun. Make it their own, and kids will enjoy&nbsp;<\/span>healthy snacks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>5) BABIES LOVE TO DANCE, TOUCH AND WATCH<\/strong> &#8211; Teri can&#8217;t wait to do all of the&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">above with her granddaughter, who is 15 months, when she\u2019s older. In the meantime, Teri puts&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hope Elizabeth, her granddaughter, in her high chair in the kitchen, plays big band\/swing&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">music, and Hope gets to watch Grammy cut up the tofu and broccoli. Hope&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also gets to try her hand at cutting tofu and cooked veggies, or anything&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">soft with a non serrated plastic knife. Hope does a lot of watching,&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">talking, and touching. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For breakfast, Hope cuts her banana, and gets to hold an egg, and then watch Grammy crack the egg into a bowl right on the&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">high chair tray, and watch her whisk it up then pour it in the pan.&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Magically, that runny egg turns into scrambled eggs that she&#8217;ll gobble up&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">every time! Hope loves to try new foods, especially when she gets to &#8220;help&#8221;&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">make it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><b>Here is Hope\u2019s favorite recipe:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/smartcoos.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Peter-Rabbit-Pizza-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1565\" src=\"https:\/\/smartcoos.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Peter-Rabbit-Pizza-2.png\" alt=\"Peter Rabbit Pizza 2\" width=\"543\" height=\"344\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Tofu Broccoli Stir Fry<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (baby&#8217;s finger food) &#8211;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Broccoli or any other veggies (steamed ahead of time)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Firm Tofu<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bragg\u2019s Liquid Amino Acids or Soy Sauce<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a non-stick pan, stir fry bite-sized cubes of firm tofu and pre-steamed broccoli in a little olive oil. Before serving, toss in Bragg&#8217;s Liquid Amino Acids for seasoning (or Hope likes a little low sodium soy sauce or sea salt). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have your baby or kid in the kitchen in the high chair, participating and watching as described above with as many steps as possible! Let them touch it before you cut it up, and before you stir fry it. Talk about it. Talk about the colors and what it feels like when the tofu is cold and in a block. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If they participate, they will EAT it!
