Wait&#8230; is that even possible? It sure is! The New York Times states, \u201cIn 1957, 92 percent of children were toilet-trained by the age of 18 months, studies found.\u201d Maybe statistics don\u2019t go as high for 18 months children in these last generations. Perhaps more moms are now more flexible in the toilet-training approach but these determined and amazing moms explained us how they, in fact, mastered the art of potty training their kids:<\/p>\n<script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-9289218266222230\" data-ad-slot=\"2581675933\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script>\n<p><strong>Introduce potty early<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Judy Crocket was able to successfully potty train her daughter by introducing the use of potty as soon as the baby was able to sit up on their own. This method worked for Judy\u2019s granddaughter as well, who was potty trained before the age of 18 months. Her technique goes like this: after the baby wakes up in the morning, give her some love and hugs, remove the diaper, and sit the baby on the potty chair. Sit on the floor, read a book, or play a few hand games with the baby. As soon as the baby fusses, (in the beginning, it may be under a minute) pick her up, hug her, and put on a fresh diaper.<\/p>\n<p>The key is to be constant with this process. It\u2019s necessary to repeat at each diaper change, and before and after naptime. Judy adds, \u201cAs she becomes more comfortable, put her on her potty when you use the toilet or while you are getting yourself ready in the morning.\u201d She says that she clapped to the baby for being a big girl on the potty and never made it a stressful event.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Use sign language and serve as example<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Michelle Lam, the author of &#8220;The Accidental Prophetess,&#8221; said that she potty trained her daughter with the use of sign language and by taking advantage of the interest her baby showed to learn. She says, \u201cwe began allowing her to witness us using the toilet, and of course she wanted to try it herself. We rewarded her with a treat if she went successfully and within a few weeks, she was completely out of diapers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Principles of EC and cloth diapers!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anne Rust is the co-founder of <a href=\"http:\/\/mamaseeds.com\/\">Mama Seeds<\/a> (on-demand prenatal and postnatal yoga and Pilates classes and community of support). She explains, \u201cWe used sign language and followed the principles of EC&#8211;elimination communication&#8211;to potty train both our girls early.\u201d Anne thinks that using cloth diapers made the process of potty training more effective.
