We wanted to learn more about her crazy good life!

What was the inspiration behind your blog/ page? Why have you continued?

I actually started blogging as a way to keep my family on the East coast and my husband’s family on the West coast up to date on our boys–I was always telling the same stories twice! It was also a great tool to help me relieve the stress that comes with parenting two active little boys, and writing helped me see how silly the situations were that were stressful to me. Quickly, I realized that laughing at a situation did a lot more good than becoming stressed about it.

How many kids do you have? What is the age of your youngest and oldest? If more than one, did you plan to have that age gap?

I have two boys, ages 10 and 14. I didn’t really think about the age gap at the time. We had planned on having one child and I remember when he was about three we watched him play by himself in the backyard–happy as can be. That’s when we decided that he needed a sibling!

What is your fondest memory as a mother? Your not so fondest memory? Why?

That’s a tough question!! I have one for each age, I think! The glow in their eyes when they realize they can do something (like tie their shoes) themselves, the look of confidence they have when chatting with their friends, and when my oldest hits a personal record at the Crossfit gym we go to–I love watching him grin and change his number on our record wall. My not so fondest memories are of when I raised my voice when I was learning to be patient.

How does motherhood influence your blog? Your business decisions?

I am so very lucky to work from home and make my own hours, so that means if I don’t feel like I’m spending enough time with them, I cut back on my blog and business immediately.

I had a big shift in my blogging early last year when my oldest son started to shy away from being in pictures or saying things he thought might end up on my blog. I went from blogging about my boys and the things they did to blogging about parenting kids their age. Where before I might have posted something funny that my son sent me via text, I now write about how texting with your teens can bring you closer together.

If you could tell a new mother ONE thing and only one thing what would it be?

I would warn them (http://mycrazygoodlife.com/nobody-warned-me/). Enjoy every second with your child–even the ones you don’t *really* enjoy like the temper tantrums and them asking for your help. Those are the memories you’ll miss the most when they get older.

What do you feel that your past experiences as a speech therapist and time in the Air Force help you bring to your blogging community?

I joined the Air Force at 17, which forced me to become independent very fast. I learned to trust myself and stand up for myself because my parents weren’t right there to lean on like they were when I lived at home. I think that my experience growing up so fast has taught me a lot about managing a blog and a business, and I’m working hard to teach my boys to be independent and have confidence in whatever they’re interested in. My time as a speech therapist taught me so much about planning, patience, and persistence–three very important qualities that I’m working to pass on to all of the bloggers I come across.

What does the future look like for you, your family and your business?

My future looks amazing! I have a beautiful family and a job doing what I love. My goal for the year is accepting more quality opportunities, and less quantity of opportunities. I’ll be stepping back from my business a bit this year compared to last year, and focusing more on making new memories with my boys before they get too old! I’ll also be taking some time to learn more about the tech and gadgets I write about on iPhone Life and Android Life, so I can broaden my reach with that a bit. As a family we’re putting a focus on fitness and healthy eating, which is something important to us all.

Twitter: @BeccaLudlum Link: http://mycrazygoodlife.com/ Contact: beccaludlum@gmail.com
Also, you can find her on Facebook.

Becca Ludlum: Her crazy good life!

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block; text-align:center;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9289218266222230" data-ad-slot="2581675933"></ins>

by Smart Coos Becca Ludlum: Her crazy good life! Becca loves blogging, her kids, and margaritas, but not necessarily in that order.
