When I started social networking more seriously a year ago, I realized that I needed to start blogging so that people can get to know me and understand what I do. I have been singing with very young children (babies through kindergarten age) as part of my job at a local music school, Mountain Top Music Center, for 8 years now and I love it!

How many kids do you have? What is the age of your youngest and oldest? If more than one, did you plan to have that age gap?

I sing with babies and toddlers twice a week with my local music school and at our local children’s museum. I usually have groups anywhere from 1-20 children. I have a preschool music class at Mountain Top Music Center and I have satellite preschool programs that I do in my community. I sing for fairs, festivals, birthday parties and family events. I have a son who is now a sophomore in college, and I have a daughter who is 11 years old and is in fifth grade.

What is your fondest memory as a mother? Your not so fondest memory? Why?

My fondest memory as a mother is playing games with my son and playing Barbies with my daughter. Spending time with them, doing the things that they love and laughing with them are my best memories. Looking back, my least fond memories came when I became impatient and too harsh. Luckily that did not happen a lot. Always remind yourself that you are creating memories. Go to the future and look back at the moment you are living now.

How does motherhood influence your blog/page? Your business decisions?

Being a mother has made it so much easier to work with children. I treat each child with the same respect and love that I would give my own children, and they understand and respond to that. I also love singing with children because it helps to fill the gap that I am already experiencing as I have had to let my son leave home and go to college and as I anticipate the same for my daughter. Now I am a mother to all of the children with whom I sing.

If you could tell a new mother ONE thing and only one thing what would it be?

The one thing I would tell every mother is to make sure that you KNOW your children and understand their hearts. They know when you are genuinely interested in who they are. Be very open and truthful with them. They lose trust in you when you are not honest. Keep your heart and thoughts honest and the rest will follow. Being open and honest keeps your understanding truthful and real. It is your honesty that helps you KNOW yourself and your children best. Lies distort and hide the truth.

You’ve written so many songs? Which of them was your favorite to write? Why?

I have written a song which is on my second CD called “World of Dreams” which describes my memories of my own children. This song still makes me cry because if describes each stage of my son’s life as he was growing up before he went to college. I love them all. My favorite song is often the last one that I have written. My song “Believe” on my third CD is probably one of my best. “My Pippilo Named Fred” is most requested by the children.

What does the future look like for you, your family and your business?

As long as God gives me strength and life I will continues to write music and sing for children. I love to write, and when I can’t sing any more I will write books for children. I have to write. I have at least one, if not two songs, that I want to publish as children books. I will soon be in the process of getting one of my songs published. I am already writing for a fourth CD and I am ready to start making professional YouTube videos and when I have enough a DVD.

Twitter: @SharonNovak5 Link: http://www.musicforkidswithsharonnovak.com/ Contact: musicforkids123@gmail.com
Also, you can find her on YouTube.

Sharon Novak: Music for kids!

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block; text-align:center;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-9289218266222230" data-ad-slot="2581675933"></ins>

by Smart Coos Sharon Novak: Music for kids! Sharon Novak is a mother and a singer for young children.
