Her love for traveling and different cultures lead her to create <a href=\"http:\/\/momaboard.com\/\">MomAboard<\/a>, an online social network dedicated to globetrotting with tots. &nbsp;We were very lucky to learn more about her and her journey as a mom of multilingual children. &nbsp;She and her family have lived in many countries and traveled to a lot more. Her goal is to raise globally open children. \u201cMy husband and I are Indian, and we were very keen that the children speak Hindi and were open to other languages,\u201d Kaama explains. She and her husband implement a variety of tactics to ensure that their kids don\u2019t miss an opportunity to learn different languages. She and her husband spoke English with their kids at home. And they also sent them to an Italian immersion preschool. Hindi was kept up with music and videos, and employing Hindi-speaking nannies. Today, her son is learning Spanish, which is easy for him because of his Italian foundations. In addition to that, they constantly use traveling to learn basic words in different languages and to talk to natives in their own language.<\/p>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-9289218266222230\" data-ad-slot=\"2581675933\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; We were eager to learn more about this inspiring mother and did not miss the chance to have a brief interview with Kaama.<\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>After giving birth, did you create a formal plan for raising your children with more than one language?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">No, we didn&#8217;t but we were very keen that our children learn Hindi and were open to other languages (they both went to an Italian immersion preschool). We exposed them to the languages at any chance we could, through books, music and interaction with other native speakers like grandparents.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>What is your fondest memory as a mother of multilingual children? Your not so fondest memory? Why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">I\u2019m in awe of how easily children learn new languages and how they switch between them in the right context. For example, my son would talk to me in English, to his teachers in Italian, and to his father in Hindi, all without skipping a beat!<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">My not-so-favorite part is that my husband and I don&#8217;t have a secret language any more since they understand Hindi perfectly!<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>How has motherhood influenced your website Momaboard?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Momaboard was created because I became a mother, and could not find appropriate resources for parents like me, who want to continue exploring the world!
