Terms & Conditions: All sessions are 30-minutes. Once you have booked your session, we require 24-hour cancellation notice for all sessions or these sessions will be deducted. All sessions in a 4 or 8 lesson private sessions package must be redeemed within 2 months of purchase. 12 and 16 private sessions packages must be redeemed within six months. Private lessons may be used towards small group sessions, there will be no reduction in cost if group lessons are substituted. Discounts or promotions which are not explicitly stated for use on private sessions packages may not be used when purchasing a private session’s package. Discounts and promotions cannot be combined. Only one person may attend a private lesson and it must be the same person throughout the program. While we do strive to be flexible in scheduling, note that the more regular your schedule is, the faster it will be to match you with a teacher.

What languages do you offer?

Arabic, English, French, Haitian Creole, Mandarin Chinese, American Sign Language, Spanish and Vietnamese. We’re always growing our list of languages — and if you’re looking for a language that’s not listed, send us a message and we’ll see if we can help.

How do I sign up?

Easy! Choose the number of sessions that works best for you each month. Once your payment is processed, we work closely with you to match you with a language instructor that fits both your language needs and schedule. Questions prior to signing up? Send us a message – we’re here to help.

Where are sessions held?

The lessons are held through live video chat at the most convenient time for you and your child.

What materials or textbooks do I need?

Once you’ve had your first lesson with your Private Instructor, you will have access to the bilingual games and activities on our platform, your child’s performance data and access to the My Child’s Smart Coos Channel – where your child can watch your past live video chat anytime to easily review, reinforce and grow in the learning language. In addition, they will recommend materials and activities that will help your child hit your language learning goals.

How long is a Private Session?

Each session is 30-minutes long! We recommend this for young children as that has shown to provide the maximum result. For older children, you can combine two sessions (creating a 1-hour session), we recommend waiting after your first lesson and asking your Language Advisor before you combine for a 1-hour session.

Can I cancel a session at anytime?

We totally understand that life happens and you may need to cancel a private session. We ask you to give your instructor and your Language Advisor 24 hours notice by replying to the session Confirmation / Reminder Email at least 24 hours prior to the lesson.

Can I pick the instructor my child takes Private Sessions with?

Yes, you may choose the available instructor. Also, at your request, our Language Advisor will match you with the instructor we feel is best for you. We’ll share their background and strengths with you before we book your first session!

Do Private Sessions packages expire?

Yes they do! The 4 and 8 session packages expire in 2 months. You have a full six months to use your 12 and 16 session packages before they expire.

Have you received a Smart Coos Gift Card?
